about
This track is a tongue and cheek response to our country, and at this rate, the world's infatuation with greed and and having more for one's self. Something I also include myself as being guilty of.
It came from looking into and reading about the history of Large Banks funding both sides of wars, the corruption of our Federal Reserve (and how it is a essentially an independent business) and even reading deeper about The Rockefellers, The Rothschilds, the Ullimanati, The Bilderberg group, and other societies, institutions, and individuals who use power and money in corrupt fashions.
The tone is very influenced by Ray Davies and his social commentary in his songs.
lyrics
The sound of change is on the ground
Not the kind to bring us 'round
We're colored green by all accounts
Sleep with greed to soothe the doubt
Congratulate our thievery
Take all we can religiously
Hide your card, save your face
These are the days
We say...
What's in it for me? (Feed your thievery)
We say... (Take all you can before they see)
What's in it for me?
What's the measure of success
To play the pimp in the land of excess
What's the measure of defeat
Feed them cake and watch them eat
Congratulate our thievery
Take all we can religiously
Hide your card, save your face
These are the days
We say...
What's in it for me (Feed your thievery)
We say... (Take all you can before they see)
What's in it for me
(Bridge section was ad-libbed in studio. Feel free to interpret your own version of these lyrics)
